We work closely with our neighbouring schools to ensure the very best education for all children in the area.  Alongside the main Secondary school, Ansford Academy, we work with the other main Primary schools:  Countess Gytha, Ditcheat, Evercreech, Castle Cary, Lovington and North Cadbury, so we offer a consistent and effective journey into secondary education.

In the Learning Partnership pupils are provided with the opportunity to work with children across the schools in a range of curricular and extra-curricular activities.  Events such as regular sports festivals and tournaments held at Ansford Academy enable older learners to develop leadership and coaching skills as they work with primary pupils in a safe and competitive environment. Primary learners benefit also from enrichment days for example, Able and Gifted Days for children with particular talents, subject specific sessions and the opportunity to perform as part of a big theatrical production!

More recently we have developed regular networking sessions for teachers with specific responsibilities including English, Maths, SEND, MFL and PE, ensuring leadership capacity is widened, expertise shared, and the latest training and updates cascaded. We are currently working together to develop assessment procedures to complement the new curriculum.

We also work together to ensure that we can access the very best Continuing Professional Development for all staff. We share responsibility for providing relevant Health and Safety training, support staff have come together for specific training in phonics and maths, and annually all teachers benefit from a shared INSET day with visiting speakers.  This year our focus is on developing the quality of teaching and learning across the Partnership.
